Welcome to the Lakes Area Amateur Radio Club Mailing List. This list is for general discussion of upcoming LAARC events such as meetings, nets and other items that may be of interest to club members and others. Also, feel free to post about any hamfests, swap meets, tailgate sells and the such. Got something amateur radio related to buy, sell, or trade? No problem. Please NO commercial ads or forwards to the list (we prob already got them any way!) The Lakes Area Amateur Radio Club (LAARC) meets the last Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm Jasper County Airport in Jasper Texas USA. The airport is located just west of Jasper at the intersection of Hwys 190 and 777. Turn south on 777 and take the first entrance and go to the main terminal building. The club repeater (W5JAS) is located on the dial at 147.000 mh with a tone 118.8, negative offset, and is also available by Echolink (node #480827) The Club 2 meter net meets each Tuesday night at 8:00 pm on the club repeater. The A.R.E.S / R.A.C.E.S net is held on the second Tuesday of each month also at 8:00 pm. Memberships in the club are available. Please attend a meeting, or email this list for details.
